Thank you for attending Year Up Dallas/Ft. Worth’s virtual graduation ceremony!

We hope you enjoyed celebrating this milestone moment with the graduates who made up our Class of Winter 2021 and their families! As we saw, our graduates delivered on Year Up’s mission to close the Opportunity Divide—the gap that exists between many young adults in our community and the economic mainstream.

Welcome to the Year Up Dallas-Fort Worth’s Commencement Website!

We are honored to be recognizing the incredible hard work of our Year Up DFW Class of January 2021 graduates. It is our true privilege to spotlight the talent and commitment that these young people have displayed over the last year of their lives, as they walk across the virtual graduation stage and launch into their careers.

The Year Up DFW team is so proud to have witnessed the journey of each of our graduates. In January 2020, they started their Learning and Development phase of the program in person, eager to get to their internship sites. They put in the time and effort and proved that they were EPIC (Empowered • Professional • In-Demand • Career-Ready) and ready to embark on this new internship opportunity. However, as COVID-19 hit the United States, the soon-to-be interns had to quickly shift and adjust their expectation of what internship would look like for them. We are so proud of how these graduates rose to the challenge and want to recognize their dedication to their professional development and the belief that nothing can get in the way of their dreams. Our young adults persevered through the changing environment and impact of not only a global pandemic, but also Shelter-In-Place orders, civil unrest and economic turmoil. At this time, more than ever, it is critical that we lift up these incredible graduates and acknowledge they are the brain force and now workforce that will effectuate the change that we need in this world.

This journey would not be possible without the incredible support of all of you. We are so grateful to the family and friends who pushed the interns to keep going when it got tough, to help be their human alarm clock and to remind them of their worth and their talent.

To the donors, and corporate and community partners who have been instrumental in creating opportunity and resources for our young people, we thank you. We are grateful for your time and commitment to close the opportunity divide. We also want to recognize our colleagues at Dallas College, especially El Centro campus, for the academic instruction, and guidance of Year Up students throughout their time in the program.

Lastly, we want to thank all the coaches, volunteers and Year Up staff members who walked alongside the students during their Year Up journey. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and the students graduating today are a testament to your commitment. We are so proud of the Year Up DFW Class of Winter 2021 graduates!

Graduates, congratulations on this incredible accomplishment.
