Welcome to the Year Up Los Angeles Commencement Ceremony!

Congratulations to all of our Graduates and their family and friends. On behalf of the staff at Year Up Los Angeles, we thank our amazing College Partner, West LA College, as well as our Corporate and Community Partners and our dedicated Volunteers and Mentors!

Class 7, today we celebrate how far you have come and acknowledge how far we know you will continue to go. You have defied the odds, persisted through these uncertain times, and not only rose to the occasion, but exceeded all expectations.

We hope you take all of this in. Take the time to reflect on this past year of hard work. The ups, the downs, the sacrifices, the friendships, the memories…

We challenge you to accept your Alumni status as a badge of honor and go into this next phase with a sense of duty and obligation. You must continue to lift as you climb, use your new platform to create space for others, and keep striving towards the mission. Our work is not done, but with the new opportunities you have created for yourself, we are making tremendous strides.

We as a staff will cherish the time we had with this class. We honor you. We commend you. We celebrate you and we will support you always.

Congrats class 7!

With love,

Year Up Los Angeles Staff
